Put simply, anyone who is interested in food. The experience is suitable for those who have decades of cooking experience and also for those who are wanting to learn the fundamentals of cooking.
Learning is a lifelong journey, and I am continually learning new ways of doing things from others.

The style of cooking I most enjoy is food that feels like home—bringing cooking back to its core essence and celebrating the seasons through produce that is as local as possible.
I have a passion for cooking delicious food from scratch, using simple techniques and letting quality ingredients shine through.
My goal is to make this style of cooking approachable by sharing practical culinary skills, tips and techniques that you can take home with you and make your own.
I want to inspire confidence in the kitchen and help you create beautiful, wholesome dishes from scratch, using what’s fresh, local and in season.

Yes the classes are designed for anyone who has a passion for food. The classes are small by design, so that each guest has ample opportunity to ask questions and have the opportunity for a hands-on learning approach.
I feel strongly that cooking is a skill that is best learn through doing. I have observed many culinary techniques and skills through my cooking journey and only ever truly “learnt” how to do replicate is, once I got my hands in and did it myself. There is beauty in making those mistakes when we first give it a try, as its always an opportunity to learn.

I do ask that you wear sturdy enclosed footwear when attending a class at Florian Cottage. You will be standing, and comfort and your safety is key.
Also the gardens around the cottage are seasonal, so the grass may be wet, dusty and/or muddy a times.
You will also be provided with an apron for your class.
We can and do experience four seasons in one day in Tasmania, so I do suggest bringing some layers with you, that you can pop on/off while you are enjoying the garden and time under the pergola.
In the event that it is heavily raining we can enjoy our lunch inside of Florian Cottage.
In summertime the sun can be quite harsh, so I do suggest popping on some sunscreen and also bringing along a hat to wear.
-
